one of five anticipated studies for two flutes. the study uses a short rhythmic cell (based on a south indian classical vocal percussion figure) as a means of exploring various phase relationships, modal relationships, hocketing, registral counterpoint, accent displacement, call/response episodes, and complex independent and interlocking melodic phrases.
